Die forging on friction press mainly relies on the energy accumulated during the downward movement of flywheel, screw and slider to realize forging deformation. Tonnage is expressed by the maximum pressure generated when the slider reaches the lowest position of the stroke. The flywheel relies on the left and right friction discs to control the rotation direction of the flywheel. According to the drive of the screw on the flywheel and the nut on the body, the slider on the screw moves up and down, and the forging process is carried out. The tonnage of commonly used friction press is generally below 1000t, and the maximum tonnage can reach 8000t. The number of strokes of the slider is 35~9 times/min, and the productivity is low. Friction press is characterized by simple structure, low cost, low investment, convenient use and maintenance, small vibration, low capital construction requirements, safe operation, and wide range of process applications. It is mainly used for medium and small batch production of small forgings. For example, bolts, nuts, gas distribution valves, gears, three-way valve bodies, etc.

The upper die of the forging die is installed on the sliding block, and the lower die is installed on the wedge worktable. Adjust the height of the wedge worktable to change the closing height of the press (the vertical distance between the bottom surface of the slider and the worktable at the bottom dead center). The stroke length of the slider is 2 times the eccentric distance of the crankshaft. Its tonnage is expressed by the pressure generated when the slider reaches the lowest position (bottom dead center) of the stroke length.
